Celebrating Women’s Day with Purpose and Impact

Apostle Max Lichaba Celebrating Women’s Day with Purpose and Impact

On Women’s Day, businessman and community leader Apostle Max Lichaba, together with Eduweb Institute and the Nations of Hope Foundation, marked the occasion not with speeches alone, but with action that touched the lives of women and families from underprivileged backgrounds. The event was a vibrant celebration of empowerment, filled with care, generosity, and the promise of long-term opportunities.

A Day of Dignity and Celebration

The event opened its doors to women from surrounding communities who were treated to free make-up sessions — a simple but powerful act of dignity and confidence. Volunteers and professional make-up artists worked tirelessly to ensure that every woman walked away not only looking beautiful, but also feeling seen, valued, and celebrated. Alongside the makeovers, warm meals were served on-site, and food parcels were distributed to families, ensuring that the impact of the day stretched far beyond its hours. For many households, those parcels represented not just food, but hope and relief.

Announcing the Skills Centre

In what was perhaps the most exciting development of the day, Max Lichaba officially announced the opening of a new Skills Centre — a bold initiative designed to break cycles of poverty and unemployment. The centre will offer practical skills training in areas such as:

  • General workers
  • Public relations
  • Jewellery design and manufacturing
  • Motor mechanics
  • Plumbing
  • Carpentry
  • General manufacturing

In addition to these trades, the centre will also house the Job Ready Skills Program, an intensive short course designed to prepare young people for the world of work. This program will focus on teaching participants how to draft professional CVs, prepare for interviews, and adapt to workplace culture, giving them the confidence to step into real job opportunities.

The Vision for an Early Learning and Development Centre

Looking beyond immediate relief, Nations of Hope Foundation and Max Lichaba shared their vision to establish an Early Learning Centre on the premises. This initiative is set to become more than a school — it will be a hub of transformation. The centre will offer mentorship, coaching, academic tutoring, a homework centre, and a feeding program to ensure no child studies on an empty stomach. Importantly, it will also include a strong focus on the upscaling and empowerment of women, providing training opportunities and creating a support network for mothers who want to better the lives of their families.

Feeding Programs Already Underway

Even before the announcement of these ambitious plans, the Nations of Hope Foundation has been consistent in its efforts to serve the community. They currently run a feeding program every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, providing nourishment to those who need it most. These efforts have already touched hundreds of families and continue to grow in scale with the help of volunteers and partners.

A Call to Partnership

In closing, Max Lichaba and the leadership of Nations of Hope Foundation extended a heartfelt invitation to like-minded individuals, businesses, and organisations to join hands with them in this mission. The vision is bold, but the need is even greater. Communities are crying out for opportunities, mentorship, and sustainable solutions — and no single organisation can meet these challenges alone. By partnering together, the dream of lifting people from underprivileged backgrounds into lives of dignity, purpose, and independence can become a reality.

A Future Built on Hope

The Women’s Day event was more than a celebration — it was a statement. It declared that true empowerment is not only about recognising women for a day, but about creating structures that allow them, and their families, to thrive every day. From free makeovers to food parcels, from the Skills Centre to the Early Learning Centre, the vision of Max Lichaba and Nations of Hope Foundation is clear: to equip people with tools, training, and hope for a better tomorrow.

And as Max Lichaba reminded everyone, “When you lift a woman, you lift an entire community.”
